Solar Energy in California

This infographic draws from "Regional Energy, National Solutions," a region by region analysis of the potential for renewable energy in the United States. The report, a joint effort of the Center for the Next Generation and the Center for American Progress, recommends a huge expansion of solar energy production on the Pacific Coast and particularly in California, where the National Renewable Energy Lab estimates we could generate 4,200 gigawatts of solar - 10 times more energy than all U.S. coal plants combined produce currently.
